At ShowMe Healthy Relationships we know that healthy adult romantic relationships are critical to well-being in other life domains. Life presents many challenges, and when people face a build-up of common stressors, it becomes harder to form and maintain healthy intimate relationships. Research shows that supportive, trusting, equitable partnerships characterized by open, healthy communication can buffer the impact of other life stress. It is our goal to help adults better understand what it means to have a healthy relationship and develop knowledge and skills to form healthier, happier, and more stable relationships in the future.

SMHR offers FREE relationship education classes for single adults in 23 counties across Missouri. Our classes focus on building strong communication and problem-solving skills, recognizing healthy and unhealthy relationship habits, understanding your own goals for a committed relationship, and other issues people face when starting a new relationship.

We are able to provide our classes free of charge as a result of grant funding from the Administration for Children and Families. SMHR is based at the University of Missouri and we provide programming in partnership with Cornerstones of Care in the Kansas City metro area, Central Missouri Community Action in the Columbia area, and Ozark Area Community Action Corporation in the Springfield area.
